An FIR has been lodged against five persons for allegedly pouring acid into the eyes of a person at Sohpur village in Bihar’s Madhubani district on Tuesday.
Sources said one Mohammad Salim was caught red-handed while committing theft in a house at Sohpur village. The villagers thrashed him before handing him over to the police. Sources said Salim, who has since been admitted in Darbhanga Medical College Hospital for treatment, told police that villagers also poured acid into his eyes. On the basis of his statement, an FIR has been been lodged against Rahman, Ismail, Shiva Narain Safi, Naresh Mandal and Mohammad Islam. Naresh Mandal has lodged a seperate FIR about the theft
